Yoga Therapy

Every day that you step on the mat you are making a commitment to turn up for yourself, honouring your needs by offering nourishment and self-care. This builds a deeper connection within yourself and your truth. Knowing what your truth is and living in alignment with it can relieve suffering and nurture your ability to thrive no matter what life throws your way.

About Yoga Therapy

Yoga therapy is a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. It can include physical movement, breathing practices and meditation, tailored to support you. Yoga therapy also addresses lifestyle, diet, and your relationship with yourself and others.

One to one classes are an opportunity to learn which yogic practices will benefit your unique needs. A group yoga class may offer modifications for practice, but it is not targeted to your unique needs and goals. Your individual practice is designed for you to do at home, in your own time and space, deeply connecting within yourself.

The aim of yoga therapy is to reduce suffering in whatever way it manifests. The practice is self-empowering, you will be taught the appropriate tools to bring about positive change for yourself as well as life skills that will take you beyond your current challenge.

You will learn to practice yoga in a way that is unique to you, and apply appropriate yogic tools to address your individual needs. Each day that you take time for yourself to practise yoga, a healthy habit is formed and the positive effect will spill into other areas of your life.

Your Yoga Therapist

A yoga therapist often begins as a yoga teacher with traditional yoga teaching qualifications. Once experience is gained at this level, further training is required to become a yoga therapist, move into areas of specialisation and gain a deeper understanding of the tools of yoga so that they can be applied safely and effectively to address a wide variety of issues.

Tanya’s yoga therapy qualification has included 4-years of yoga therapy training and mentorship.
